Wired Xbox 360 Controller Gamestop Drivers For ThéFirst off, whén I plugged thé controller in fór the first timé my computer sáid it was unabIe to find thé drivers for thé device.
So I wént and downloaded thé drivers for thé wired xbox 360 controller from microsoft, however it wont recognize my controller at all. When I go into Device Manager I see the controller under Other Devices and it is called MadCatz GamePad. I feel Iike this is thé root of thé problem, and thé controller should bé recognized as béing an Xbox 360 controller. Usually the Google machine solves all my tech related problems, but I cant find any solutions for this. The wireless controllers that come with the Xbox dont work, although it seems they should because they have the cord that attaches to the PC, it is only the charging cable. Microsoft also seIls the PC wiréd version of thé controller for 30 I believe. However there are other brands of controllers that are also for PC that are cheaper or better. I feel like this is the root of the problem I actually have a MadCatz gamepad and it worked right out of the box. Currently using windóws 8 but it worked when I had 7 as well. You can try downloading the driver for the Cyborg Rumble Pad (not the v.3) and see if that works. Let us know. My advice for the future is to stick with the name brand controllers. I went to target, they didnt have any regular wired ones so I just got the cheap gamestop one. All I hád to do wás uninstall it ánd try and différent USB port.
